Common Questions

If you cannot find the answer to your question here, please contact us and we will get back to you.

Do I have to send my original document?

Not necessarily. We need to see either the original or an  extremely legible and complete copy of your document in order to certify the translation. It is very important that all stamps and seals in the document are  visible and legible. We do not accept documents submitted by fax.

You may post the document to us or send a scanned [high resolution] file via email. If sending  by post, we suggest you to use Recorded Mail or Special Delivery as these are  more secure. You will find our address here

How long does it take?

It will depend on what document you need translated, type of certification, language, and other factors. As an example, we can usually translate a one A4 page birth certificate from Portuguese into English with solicitor or Notary Public certification within 48 hours. But if you need a translation done by a sworn translator in the country concerned, then it will take longer as we need to send the original document to the translator.

How do I submit my documents to you?

You can either post the document to us or bring them in person. If sending by post, we recommend you to send them via Recorded Mail or Special Delivery. We can also arrange for a courier to collect it from an address in the UK, but additional costs will apply.

What is a certified translation? How is it done?

There will be a declaration attached to the translated document which confirms that the translation is accurate according to the original document. This will then be signed by the translator or company representative before a solicitor or notary public, depending on the clients needs.

Do you charge more for urgent translations?

No. We consider every job urgent and will carry out the work as fast as we can, but our clients have to remember that if the document has to be sent abroad for a sworn translation, for example, it will take longer to be ready. We request our clients to send documents well in advance for it to be ready by the date needed.
